Sinelli Concepts International Acquires Growing Gelato Franchise

Sinelli Concepts International, the parent company of the popular Which Wich Superior Sandwiches and Genghis Grill restaurant franchise chains, has announced another addition to their portfolio. On August 6^th, the company announced they were taking ownership of Paciugo, nearly 20-year-old franchise chain that claims to be the largest chain of artisanal gelato shops in the U.S.

The chain has grown to 32 locations across 10 states in the country, and Jeff Sinelli, the founder of Sinelli Concepts International, hopes to help the brand expand into even more markets in the future. The first location opened in Dallas, Texas in the year 2000.

Jeff Sinelli stated: “Paciugo has established a solid reputation for quality and has delighted families for almost two decades. Our team is looking forward to sharing the Paciugo experience in even more markets in the years ahead. I am proud of my roots here in Dallas and excited to invest in growing this Dallas-based company and supporting the men and women who make up the Paciugo system.” Sinelli, a Dallas native, founded the first Which Wich Superior Sandwiches location in Dallas as well.

The initial concept for the shops was based on a secret family recipe, with the name roughly translating to “messy concoction.” The gelato is hand-made each and every day using fresh ingredients such as fruit and Italian chocolates. In total, the chain has developed more than 400 different flavor combinations. The chain claims it sold more than 3.5 million cups of gelato and more than 75,000 take-home packs of gelato in the year 2017, in addition to their other offerings that include gelato pops, ice cream sandwiches, macarons, shakes, coffee, pastries, smoothies, and much more.

Sinelli added: “With Paciugo, we are giving our guests the chance to experience the incomparable flavor of authentic Italian gelato in a variety of ways that make it the perfect treat to enjoy with family, friends or as a treat for yourself either in our cafes, on the go or to enjoy at home.”
