Which Wich Supports the VFW
This month, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1815 received a donation of $500 through the fundraising efforts of Airmen 1st Class Jared Clemons. Which Wich General Manager Christopher McLester was also recognized for his immense contribution to the fundraiser, which included $200 worth of sandwiches. A veteran himself, McLester was happy to give to such a good cause.
Clemons lived in San Angelo for only three months before he felt inspired to give back to the community. He believed that the VFW would be a great place to start since it tends to lack support and many often do not know what it stands for. Having this fundraiser shed some well-deserved light on it and informed the community and younger military members of what it stands for.
In addition to the $200 donation McLester made, he also donated Which Wich bags, which were decorated by customers with notes and drawings that expressed their support for the military. The bags were filled with a variety of goodies and coupons for incoming airmen.
John Darrell Muckleroy, post commander at the VFW, and Quartermaster Troy Crosby were presented with the $500 check at a ceremony, where they also presented McLester with a certificate of appreciation and a squadron coin by Major Ken Zimmerman. Clemons was surprised with a certificate of appreciation as well for his support of the organization.
The donation could not have come at a better time since the VFW is currently facing an unexpected need for repairs. Learn more about how Which Wich supports veterans who dream of opening a franchise sandwich shop.
